Spring Break is the perfect time to unwind and reset during the school year, but that doesn’t mean you have to travel far or even at all to enjoy it. For many people a staycation can be as relaxing or even more than a normal vacation because it allows you to enjoy local spots and discover new awesome places without the cost of traveling. Staycation is all about making the most of your time whether that is staying in, going and hanging out with friends, or exploring new spots.
“I think a staycation is more relaxing than a vacation because you aren’t on a tight schedule and you are familiar with your surroundings and environment,”sophomore Greta Dombrowski said.
A staycation can often be more relaxing than a vacation because it offers a slower pace break. You don’t have to follow or worry about a strict schedule or worry about catching flights and making reservations. Since you are already familiar with your surroundings it allows you to be more relaxed and comfortable. There is no need to rush anything during a staycation and it allows you to fully enjoy your time to the fullest.
“My go to spot over Spring Break was my best friend’s house because we hung out,” junior Alandra Flores said.
This is another reason why a staycation is very relaxing, it allows you to spend more quality time with close friends and family. You can be with friends without the stress of travelling. This is a great activity to do during a staycation because it helps you be more social and allows you to develop a deeper bond with your friends.
“The main thing I did during my staycation was work and opening for my shift,” senior Jennifer Schwartz said.
Another benefit to a staycation is it allows you more time to be productive and work. Unlike a vacation when you are away from home and have to take off from work, a staycation allows you to relax and still work. Whether that is working your job, catching up on assignments, or going to the gym, a staycation is a great opportunity for productivity.
