The Greendale Girls Swim Team is keeping their winning streak alive as they beat West Allis Central on Wednesday at home.

“We all swam our best.  We went out strong and had some awesome races,” senior Rose Irwin said.

Sophomore Hannah Kujawa took first in the 100 fly.

“It was really fun to race against my friend Olivia Julien. We always push each other to do better,” she said.

Last Wednesday the swim team competed at the Woodland Conference Relay Meet at Greenfield High School, which gave them their first look of their conference competition.

They took 4th out of 12 teams, scoring 236 points. Placing 3rd in the 4×100 IM Relay of juniors Natalie Norton, Madisen Patti, Brianna Homontowski, and Kujawa. Also taking third was the 300 Butterfly Relay with Patti, Homontowski, sophomore Olivia Julien and Kujawa.

“I felt amazing to get third considering we were the underdogs,” Julien said

Freshman Ashley Felsman is having a great time this season.

“It was a great meet. Everyone swam to their ability, and I thought it was fun meet to go to because in club swim they don’t have relay meet which was cool to experience,” she said.

The team’s next meet is on Saturday in Middleton.

“There will be a lot of competition with some good swimmers, but we have been working hard at practice this week and I hope we can work together and have some good swims,” Irwin said.
