Girls Swim Season Making It To The End
November 3, 2017
The Girls Swim Team season is coming to an end and their performances so far have made them confident as they continue on to the sectional meet this Saturday at Whitefish Bay.
Last Saturday the Greendale Girls Swim Team finished 5th in Conference.
“We all worked hard together as a team and placed 5th overall, the best we’ve ever done,” senior captain Rose Irwin said.
Sophomore Hannah Kujawa finished 1st in the 50 freestyle.
“My performance at conference was great. I was happy getting first in the 50 free,” she said.
During the season, it is important to consistently drop times. This will help the swimmers as the continue on to bigger meets.
“My performances have helped build my confidence, since I’ve been dropping times,” Irwin said.
The swimmers stay motivated to swim even if they are stressed out.
“I love the feeling after I work hard and I love seeing all my friends at swim,” junior Anina Lee said.
The coaches play a crucial role in the swimmer’s performances. Without them, the swimmers would not be as motivated to swim almost every day of the week.
“My coaches motivate me to train hard so that I perform well at meets,” sophomore Olivia Julian said.
A week after they will make their way to State on Nov. 10
“I think we will perform strongly at Sectionals like we have been doing all season long. I’m sure all of our hard work will pay off and Greendale will have some great swims,” senior captain Sophie Wolf said.
