Young NBA Stars in the Making

As the 2017-18 NBA season kicks off  the Milwaukee Bucks are off to a 4-4 start, led by NBA All Star Giannis Antetokounmpo, who is off to an excellent start.  He is currently averaging 33.7ppg and 10.4 rebounds a night, basically carrying the team on his back.

Junior Sean Sanchez is a big Bucks fan and is impressed with Antetokounmpo so far.

“Giannis  is amazing. I think he is the best player in the league right now,” he said. “If he can keep this up he definitely will be the MVP.”

The team is currently trying to work on their chemistry, and with big wins against Boston and Atlanta, they have proven can hold their own position in the Eastern Conference, where they are currently in 8th place.

One of the of the biggest challenges for the Bucks will be if they can make a push for the playoffs when Jabari Parker, who is out with a knee injury, comes back after the new year. Many fans feel that once the Milwaukee Bucks become healthy, they will be a dangerous team to handle and maintain.

Junior James Laskowski thinks getting Parker back will help the team a lot.

“With Jabari the team will be more balance  and have a better chance to beat some of the more  respected teams like Cleveland and Golden State,” he said.

Playing these power teams has proven to be difficult, as the team lost to both the Cavaliers 116-97 and the Thunder 110-91. In the game against Oklahoma, there were a lot of matchup problems because point guard Malcolm Brogdon couldn’t guard Russell Westbrook and Kris Middleton couldn’t guard Paul George and Carmelo Anthony. The Thunder simply had too many weapons for the Bucks.

“I think Middleton needs to sep it up by making more three’s. The big guys need to step up because they don’t score enough points,” Sanchez said.

On Wednesday night the Bucks lost to the Charlotte Hornets 126-121 and Khris Middleton dropped an amazing 43 points that night , but it wasn’t enough for them to get the win. Hopefully in the near future they will be able to win in big team matchups when the players’ score those high amount of points.
