Students Excited for Hunting Season

This weekend is the opening weekend for gun deer hunting season and there are many GHS students who are looking forward to the hunt.

Junior Hudson Hughes has been hunting for five years.

“I enjoy being in the woods and just relaxing and watching nature,” he said.

Junior Andrew Jack has been hunting for seven years.

“I enjoy the peacefulness and how fun it is when you actually get a deer,” he said.

The GHS students have many different goals for this year.

“My goal this year is to stay warm and shoot the biggest buck I’ve ever shot,” junior Josh Warner said.

Jack has never shot a big buck before and that is his goal for this season.

“My goal is to hopefully get a big buck,” he said.

Like Warner, Hughes has a similar goal to shoot a deer.

“My goal this season is to get away from my sisters and mom and hopefully to get a deer with my dad,” he said.

The thing Hughes enjoys the most about hunting is just being in the woods and just relaxing and watching nature.

Like Hughes, the thing Warner likes most about hunting is being outdoors, and being with his hunting groups because it’s super fun.

Overall the GHS students are really excited and hopefully will achieve their goal.
