The new movie, Jumanji Welcome to the Jungle came out yesterday and many students are planning to see the movie over break.

The plot twist takes place when four teenagers get sucked into a video game and now appear as the adult avatars they chose. They must figure out how to get out, return to real life, and learn to think differently about themselves – otherwise they’ll be stuck in the video game forever.

“I’m not sure what will happen, of course, but based on my knowledge of the prior Jumanji movie, my best guess is that the characters will get sucked into the game and have to work together on a quest to complete it,” freshman Adele Servais said.

Freshman Alex Tellez agrees. “I think they’re going on a huge adventure to get out of the game, but along the way each of them will learn more about each other and a valuable lesson in the end,” he said.

Students look forward to seeing the starring actors of the movie: Dwayne Johnson, Karen Gillan, Jack Black, Kevin Hart and side actor Nick Jonas.

Sophomore Sarrah DeLong is excited to see the movie.

“I think the movie will be very entertaining and suspenseful because the trailer made the movie seem very interesting. I think that the plot of the movie is intriguing and I like most of the actresses in the movie!” she said.

“I can’t wait to see it,” said sophomore Zehra Efe, “because it is a classic Robin Williams movie and I love that man and there will be tears shed for sure. I love the plot of the film and the comedy that is incorporated. Also the actors in the newer version are hysterical. I love suspenseful movies.”

Servais agrees. “I’ve seen the trailer and one of my favorite actresses, Karen Gillan is in it! I love movies that are about adventure and having a main goal to work towards,” she said.

“I really want to see the movie because of the funny characters and all the intense action the movie will have,” said junior Samantha Swenski. “I’ve been waiting for the movie to come out for so long, and I’m excited to see how it turns out-especially because the trailer was funny and drew my attention.”

“I do plan on seeing Jumanji because I love the genre and the movie looks really funny. I know I will like the movie because I’m a fan of how Kevin Hart and the ROCK act together,” Tellez said.

The movie is expected to be a hit, making between $45-60 million; according to Cinemablend.
