GHS Students set to audition for this year’s Talent Show 2K18

January 5, 2018
Next week, students will audition for the annual talent show which will showcase students from all grade levels.
Choir teacher Mike Jones is helping students organize this year’s talent show.
So far there are eight performances signed up to audition for the show. There are two dancers who will be tap dancing, four people who will be singing (one set of a duet), a guitarist and the jazz band.
All these people have decided to show their talent for so many reasons.
“I love dancing, especially tap dancing, because I like perfecting it and feeling accomplished once I master a step,” junior Abigail Amidzich said.
Amidzich will be dancing alongside her friend senior Brooke Kais to “Thunderstruck” instrumental version by AC/DC.
“Dance has given me something to be passionate about and it lets me escape everything that is happening in my life or allows me express it. It really just makes me feel happiness and I love it so much,” senior Brooke Kais said.
Some seniors find this as an opportunity to give it their all and try out for the Talent Show for their last year of high school.
“Rose and I wanted to do it our senior year because we obviously can’t do it next year and we don’t have/won’t have a lot of opportunities to actually arrange a piece and perform especially in front of so many people so this is a unique opportunity,” senior Sarah Kuhnke said.
Kuhnke will be singing a duet with longtime friend senior Rose Mochalski.
“I have been singing since as long as I can remember but Rose and I have been singing together for the past 6ish years now,” Kuhnke said.
Not only will the talent show have singers and dancers, but instruments will also be played.
Sophomore Raymond Horn will play the guitar.
“I will be playing certain parts from songs by the following Artists/Bands such as Metallica, Ozzy Osbourne/Randy Rhodes, Jimi Hendrix, and Bruno Mar,” sophomore Raymond Horn said. “I will be playing ‘Master Of Puppets’ and ‘Fade to Black’ by Metallica, ‘Little Wing’ solo by Jimi Hendrix, ‘Crazy Train’ by Ozzy Osbourne/Randy Rhoads, and ‘Uptown Funk’ by Bruno Mars,”.
This will be his first time trying out for in the high school talent show.
“The reason I entered the talent show is because I want to gain experience in performing and show my skill to others, this will be my first time doing the talent show and I hope for success,” Horn said.
