Digital Electronics students travel to Rockwell Industries

This past Tuesday the Digital Electronics class took a field trip to Rockwell Industries located in Mequon. They got to witness all different types of engineers at work and ask them about their education background and job description.

Most students in the Digital Electronics class plan on working in the field of engineering like senior Nathan Brandt.

“I am a senior and I’m going to UWM next year for engineering. Going on this field trip gave me an example of what I am going into,” Brandt said.

Students like junior Brendan O’Donnell thought the field trip was fun, but wish they could have done some hands-on activities rather than listening to people talk the whole time.

“I thought the field trip was fun, although since I’m still unsure what type of engineer I want to be, I would’ve liked to have done some hands-on activities instead of listening to the engineers talking the whole time,” O’Donnell said.

Sophomore Sebastian Hoth really liked the field trip because he could see and hear all the questions he wanted to get answered.

“I thought It was awesome to be able to ask the engineers from Rockwell some questions that I have been wondering about the different types of fields, and what happens in each one,” Hoth said.

Senior Glen Banks plans to go into engineering some day.

“I plan on going into the military right after high school, then I do plan on going into engineering, but Im not sure of which field I would like to go into yet,” said Banks.

Other students plan on continuing right after high school to pursue the engineering field that they wish.

“I want to continue with engineering and go to college to major in the software engineering field, with manufacturing as well,” senior Vincent Adelmann-Benish said.
