Weather Causes Many Softball Games to be Postponed

This GHS softball season is off to a rough start due to the weather causing numerous canceled games.

It’s hard for the softball team to know what to expect for practices or games because the season started off pretty well but the weather has just gone down hill. They have only been able to play 3 games in total so far, and they have a record of 2-1

The girls started their season on March 29 with a win against Wisconsin Lutheran 12-2. They then went out on April 10th and beat West Allis Central  20-3.

The last game they were able to play before the weather kicked in was on April 11 and they lost to New Berlin West 6-4.

The girls have been not able to practice outside either due to rain and snow.

“It’s been hard not being able to practice outside on the field together, and having to practice inside doesn’t let us get to our full extent,” sophomore Lauren Koss said.

The girls don’t get to really experience the whole game playing because of the weather.

“We have to practice inside so when games come up it’s hard to know how to all work together for the game,” junior Nicole Martin said.

Junior Ruby Anderson said she was ready for the tournament this weekend but it got canceled.

“It’s hard because we had a tournament, and Franklin was trying to get all the snow melted off the field in time but they couldn’t do it,” Anderson said.

The seniors are sad that this season has to be crummy due to the weather and the fact that they don’t get to play much their senior year.

“I wish we could be able to get out on the field and play, but the weather is really interfering,” senior Allyson Caballero said.
