Country artists visit Miller Park

Country star Kenny Chesney performed at Miller Park, with Thomas Rhett on April 28 and some students went to the concert and had an awesome time.

Although he is not a huge country music fan, junior Sam Swittel loved the concert.

I wouldn’t say country is my favorite genre of music. I really listen to anything, but I definitely have been listening to country for quite a while, especially Kenny Chesney,” he said. “I enjoyed the concert a lot it was probably one of the best concerts I have ever been to with the four different performers.I loved the concert because I got to see a lot of my friends there and just let loose and listen to some good, relaxing country music.”

Junior Anna Hawley is a big fan of birth Chesney and Rhett.

“I think my favorite song was sung by Thomas Rhett and was called ‘Unforgettable,’ but my favorite song that Kenny Chesney sang was ‘American kids’,” Hawley said.

Senior Jack Ehemann also really liked Rhett and was happy he was able to go to the concert.

“I wanted to go because I like all those artists a lot. I liked Rhett the best because I knew every song he played,” Ehemann said.

For Ehemann it was his fist Chesney concert.

“This was my first Kenny Chesney concert and I really liked it,” he said.

Students seemed to really think that having it at Miller Park was really cool since it was in their hometown.

“The fact that it was at Miller Park was awesome. We got to tailgate before the concert and then because it was so windy and cold outside, when we went into the closed roof stadium, it felt so nice,” Swittel said. “The stadium was filled to the brim and it was just cool to be able to go to the concert of such an icon in country music in the stadium that I’ve grown up with.”

Hawley also really liked the fact that it was at Miller Park.

“I liked having the concert inside of miller park, it was a big venue and even though we were pretty far away it wasn’t hard to see or hear. It would have been an even cooler venue if it was warm enough for them to open the roof, but it was a little cold that day for that,”  she said.
