Seniors Pick Their College

As the end of school comes around the corner, GHS seniors are preparing themselves for college and as of May 1 had to decide exactly which college they would attend next year.

Some students, like senior Nathan Brandt and Marija Dragicevic will attend a college close to home.

“I am attending UWM.  For my major I am studying engineering. I picked UWM because I thought it was a good school for my major and for me because it’s nice and close to home,” Brandt said.

“I chose to go to UWM  because it is close to home and I do not want to live in a dorm.  I am going for some kind of financial aid,” said Dragicevic.

Some students don’t want to leave the school life.

“I will be attending Parkside college, I will be studying teaching so that I can become a teacher. I liked the school because it wasn’t too far from home but also not to close,” said senior Emma Jachowicz.

Another popular school for GHS students is UW-Whitewater.

“I chose to go to Whitewater because the campus is really nice and close enough to home, and I want to go to study some type of graphic design. I am super excited to experience independence and study the one thing I enjoy”, senior Aaron Xiong said.

Marquette University is another popular choice.

“I chose Marquette because the campus is for walking and the classes were just right for me. I am excited for college because it isn’t too far away from home. But I can experience freedom/independence. I also like that my friends that go to UWM are super close to my college so we can hang out,” senior Mohammad Alsalhi said.

Some seniors have decided to play sports in college.

“I am going to St. Ambrose College to pursue my swimming and to study some type of software engineering. I chose this school because it had a really good swim team and my time was running out, and it is in Iowa which isn’t too far, but still a good enough distance from home,” senior Carmelo Patti said.

Some students aren’t going to a college but attending some type of school for their major they like.

“I am excited to be able to continue my artsy vibes, with going to beauty school to be an aesthetician. I am super happy to study something I really enjoy doing”, senior Aisha Artega.

Some students do not want to attend a school close to home.

“I am going to Rippon for communications, it isn’t to close to home it is like 20 minutes out of Oshkosh,” said senior Lily Kopplin.

Student Bojana Nenadic decided that her college was the one for her with the help of her sister who also attends UW-Madison.

“I chose Madison with the help of my sister and because when I toured the campus it had a lot of classes that were right for the major I want to be (dentist). I thought it would be fun because the campus isn’t too large but not too small, Nenadic said.
