Students excited for Memorial Day Weekend

Many juniors and seniors from GHS are participating in the school Prom this Friday, but this weekend is also Memorial Day weekend which means there is a four day weekend when many students will participate in a variety of activities.

Some students will be hanging out with friends and family.

“I will be participating in the school dance Friday and then on Saturday my family planned a get together with my friends and family and we will be having a bonfire,” senior Marija Dragicevic said.

Like Dragicevic, another student will be hanging out with his family but doing an activity away from home.

“I am attending a car show up north close to Green Lake with my brother and our parents,” junior Jonathan Paulik said.

Many GHS students have jobs and with Memorial Day this weekend many stores will be busy so they are working a lot of hours.

“I will be working Sunday and Monday, and then I will be attending graduation parties,” junior Jackson Zgola said.

Students who are involved with sports have some games as well.

“Besides Prom, I have a baseball game on Saturday and then we will be grilling out with my dad on Memorial Day,” junior Andrew Jack said.

Another student will be spending time working on his sport.

“I am going to the bowling alley with my family just to get out of the house and to have some fun,” junior Tyler Mouthey said.

And of course some students are simply going to spend time with their friends over the long weekend.

“I am going to watch Mason Hanizeski at a gig he is playing at Blum on Saturday morning, and then I am going to work on a song with Rose Mochalski that we are writing,” junior Gavin Steele said.
