Solo: A Star Wars Story Coming Soon to Theatres

The new Star Wars movie, Solo: A Star Wars Story, is coming to theatres this Friday, May 25. The movie is about the character Han Solo’s background and how he meets the famous wookie/ co-pilot, Chewbacca.

Junior Ellen AbadSantos is excited to see the movie.

“I plan to see Solo: A Star Wars Story because I want to know more about Han Solo’s mysterious origin and I want to learn how and when Han meets Chewy,” she said.

Junior Samantha Swenski also plans on seeing the movie and wants to learn about Chewy and Solo’s relationship.

“I am very excited because for the people that follow the movies it provides them with more details of Han Solo’s life before he met Luke. I really want to know how Han met Chewy and why the became really good friends,” she said.

Freshman Briahna Lynch plans to see the movie because it will connect the stories together.

“I am planning to see the new Han Solo movie because I have seen the other movies and this is the next one. It will also give more backstory that will connect to the previous movies, and I’m hoping to learn how Han met Chewbacca,” she said.

Sophomore Taylor Javorek wants to see the movie because of her tradition.

“I am very excited to see the new movie. I love seeing what the producers come up with for each new movie. I’m excited because it has been a tradition to go see all the Star Wars movies with my father for awhile since he always did it with his dad,” she said.  “I look forward to seeing how Han came about and am especially excited to find out how he became who is his and everything he had to do to get to where he is.”

AbadSantos reflects on why she enjoys the Star Wars series.

“I enjoy the originality of Star Wars and I love the aspect of adventure in the films. My favorite Star Wars movie is Empire Strikes Back because it adds more depth to the characters compared to A New Hope, yet it still is very nostalgic because it is one of the originals,” she said.

Swenski enjoys the continuous action in Star Wars and really liked Rogue One.

“I like Star Wars because of all the action and the different plots that happen in each movie. I like the movie Rogue One because it is a stand alone movie,” she said. “It provided more detail for the movie followers and I thought that the characters in the movie were strong.”

Sophomore Ellie Roder also enjoys the Star Wars movie for the action, but also because of its plot.

“It’s interesting because it’s in space, there’s a lot of action, and there are interesting characters as well. My favorite movie was Rogue One because even though everyone dies, it had a really good plot and lined up well with the other movies,” she said.

Javorek likes the plot change in every movie and her favorite character is Darth Vader.

“I love Star Wars because the plot line is always changing which keeps it exciting. I also love all the detail in all the movies from the special effects to the costumes,” she explained. “My favorite movie is the original because it’s what got me hooked on the whole series.”

AbadSantos admires the determination in the character Princess Leia.

“Princess Leia is my all time favorite character because she isn’t afraid to stand up when times get tough and she doesn’t let anyone boss her around,” she said.

Swenski admires the character Jyn because of her mental strength.

“I really like Jyn because she is a strong female character in Rogue One, especially when she helped destroy the plans for the Death Star,” she said.

Javoreks favorite character is Darth Vader because of his importance.

“My favorite character is probably Darth Vader because he is a big deal in the Star Wars series. I also love that he is on the dark side because he fell in love and Jedis should not fall in love,” she said.
