GHS Reacts to the Bucs win at Super Bowl 55
March 4, 2021
Last month the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, led by the “GOAT” Tom Brady beat the Kansas City Chiefs, led by Patrick Mahomes, in Super Bowl LV in Tampa, FL. Going into the game the Chiefs were looking for back to back Super Bowl wins, while Brady was going into the game trying to get ring number seven.
Senior Mo Jamaleddin is a huge Tom Brady fan and felt confident going into the game. “I felt pretty confident in the Bucs and Brady leading the team. I mean dude is the greatest of all time, never doubted them for a second,” he said.
Jamaleddin’s faith in Brady and the Bucs was well placed, as they dominated the game from start to finish, defeating the defending Super Bowl champion Chiefs by a score of 31-9. As Brady and the offense came out slow, but then really kicked up at a gear starting towards the end of the first quarter. After Brady’s second touchdown pass to Gronk, the Bucs were flying offensively. Absolutely coasting throughout the rest of the game on offense.
Jamaleddin wasn’t the only one with confidence in the Bucs. Senior Will Brust was also confident that they would win.. “I knew the Bucs were going to win because they were on a hot streak and their defense is really good,” he said.
To continue off of Brust’s thoughts, the Bucs defense played LIGHTS OUT, holding the defending champions to 9 total points, forcing them to kick 3 field goals and punt 3 times. Not only that but the Bucs defense was also able to snag two interceptions coming from two rookies, Antoine Winfield Jr and Devin White.
Surprisingly the defending champs weren’t picked by most to retain their title. However there was still a small group who had faith in the Chiefs before the game. Senior Joe Toetz thought the Chiefs would be able to retain their title. “Going into the game I just felt like the Chiefs offense with Mahomes and Hill would be too much for the Bucs, but the Bucs were able to shut them down and win the game,” he said.
Overall the game was dominated by the Tampa Bay Buccaneers from start to finish, set up by Brady and Gronk’s offense and then especially by the dominant defense, Brady to capture his 7th Super Bowl ring and establish himself at the top of the mountain as the greatest of all time.
