The College Football Playoffs are set and will begin on Jan. 1 where Alabama will face Michigan and Texas will face Washington.
The first game of CFP will be Michigan vs Alabama at 4 pm, and the second game will happen at 7 pm where Texas will face Washington. Although the playoffs are set, there is still controversy about FSU not getting in the playoffs as they went undefeated. One of the reasons some people think FSU didn’t get in is because they have a third-string QB, Brock Glenn.
Some fans believe that if FSU had played against Michigan, they would have lost badly. “I think that FSU wasn’t robbed even though they played well. They weren’t going to win the playoff game with a backup QB who barely beat a mild team for the last game of the season,” freshman Gabe Anderson said. “I think that the final four should be what they are, but Oregon could’ve gone in instead of Alabama considering Alabama had their only loss from the beginning of the season.”
Although some people thought that Florida State didn’t deserve to be in the playoffs, other people believed that because football is a team sport it’s not based on one person.
“I think FSU should’ve been in the playoffs because football doesn’t involve only the QB, but it involves a team,” freshman Elijah LaPointe said.
In other college football news, there is a conference that’s going to be gone after this year: the PAC-12. The PAC-12 teams will be broken up and going to different leagues like the BIG TEN, Big 12, SEC, ACC, and others.
The CFP will also change as instead of 4 teams in the playoffs, there’ll be 12 teams. Football fans have strong opinions about playoff weekend and the future of college football, as they don’t know how to feel about it.
“I don’t mind having 12 teams in the playoffs since the CFP will have more teams and more games, but I think that the PAC 12 should not end because even though it was falling apart in money, it’s still a conference,” senior Alin Ademi said.
With that being said, the CFP is going to change a lot next year and the future of the CFP is unknown, but CFP is always going to be fun.
