The NFL playoffs have just been set after this past Sunday’s football games. The San Francisco 49ers took the #1 seed in the NFC and the Baltimore Ravens took the #1 seed in the AFC.
The Green Bay Packers in the hometown team have snuck into the playoffs with a win over the Bears in week 17 to play the Cowboys within the first round of the playoffs.
The NFC can have one champion along with one champion in the AFC division. The two favorite teams to make the NFL playoffs are the two #1 seeds in each division. However, one of our students thinks differently about who will win the NFC. “I think the Packers will win the NFC because Jordan Love is the best quarterback of all time,” sophomore Charlie Sheridan said.
Sheridan also has an opinion about who will win the AFC. “Ravens are going to win the AFC;, they have the best defense in the league and Lamar is playing out of his mind right now,.” he said.
In Sheridan’s mind, these two teams will face off in the Super Bowl and he chose his winner for the big game. “Ravens are going to win. The Packers won’t be able to to stop the Ravens’ passing game,.” he said.
The NFL is made up of favorites and underdogs. The underdogs are typically the fan favorites because who doesn’t love an underdog story. One of the main underdog teams are the Cleveland Browns. They signed Joe Flacco in early November, and since this signing they’ve went 4-1 winning the division and securing a #4 seed.
Flacco was sitting on his couch before he got signed and now has led them to the playoffs which is an amazing story. Junior Brady McCravens seems to really enjoy the Browns’ underdog story and can see them having a chance in the playoffs. “My underdog who made the playoffs are the Cleveland Browns because Joe Flacco is really good and can turn around the Browns program,” McCravens said.
The NFL playoffs first round takes place this week on Saturday, Sunday and Monday. Stay tuned to see who wins to make it to the next round and who they play.
