The Green Bay Packers made history this year as the youngest team in the history of the NFL to ever go to the playoffs.
“The Packers making the playoffs gave me hope this is a great experience for the young guys to help them develop and we could be scary next year if,” sophomore Alex Sokolosky said.
Going into the year a lot of people had their doubts and some concerns about the Packers and mainly Packers quarterback Jordan Love. But Love was very successful, finishing the regular season with 4,159 yards, 32 touchdowns, and only 11 interceptions in his first year as a starter.
“I think the regular season went as good as expected, if not better, and the younger players like Jordan Love and Jayden Reed played very well,” sophomore Alex Danbeck said,
The Packers’ defense had its weakness this year and many people are saying that it is defensive coordinator Joe Barry’s fault.
“If we end up losing in the second round, Joe Barry will probably get fired because our defense has been terrible for the middle part of this year,” sophomore Jack Grunske said.
The Packers faced the Dallas Cowboys in round 1 of the playoffs and beat the Cowboys 48-32. Over the past few games the Packers’ defense had done very well and in this game they had an amazing performance holding them to only 7 points in the first half.
“The Packers played an amazing game on both sides of the ball and I was impressed by Jordan Love and how well he played and Aaron Jones had an amazing night,” sophomore Raymond Johnson said.
The Packers will face the 49ers in the divisional round in San Francisco. This will be their biggest challenge all year, as San Francisco is considered by many to be one of, if not the best, teams in the league.
Many fans think the Packers have to play near-perfect football to make it past this game “This will be their biggest challenge of the year. If they can somehow get past the 49ers, they have a real shot of making it to the Super Bowl,” business teacher Andy Muszytowski said.
