Prom is coming up this Friday, with many juniors and seniors excited to attend. This week started the countdown with a spirit week.
The theme on Monday was USA, Tuesday was Rock N’ Roll vs Biker, Wednesday was 2000 themed, and Thursday was Neon party themed. “The spirit week brings out the energy for prom. It is also cool to see the school coming together,” sophomore Zayd Cartagena said.
To top the week off, the Prom takes place at the Harley Davidson Museum, with the theme being Under the Lanterns.
“We decided on the location because we wanted something different from past years and the venue was very nice. The prom theme was thought of because we wanted something like enchanted forest, but wanted a different name, so ‘Under the Lanterns’ seemed like the most creative option,” junior Tess Zaja said.
One of the concerts for some students was the cost of the tickets which were $80. “Tickets are more expensive this year because of the food options and the venue,” Zaja said.
Before the dance couples will be presented at the Grand March and the prom King and Queen will be announced. This year’s prom court includes juniors Lauren Alenius, David Dahlman, Greyson Doersching, Nick Galusha, Tommy Gozdowiak, Troy Hafemeister, Sawyer Hakow, Bryn Hegadus, Aubrey Jorgenson, Kallie Lapointe, Brady McCravens, Gabi Trauberman, Liv Vitrano, and Tess Zaja.
“It would be cool to win, but that’s something that is not really on my mind. I am looking forward to having fun at the dance” Doersching said.
