The Milwaukee Brewers have burst out of the gates in the 2023 MLB season, establishing themselves as one of the hottest teams in baseball. This team is led by a potent offense that’s improved this season and has a lot of potential to be dangerous in the future.
The Brewers’ key to success has been their hitting, as they’ve improved since last season. The Brewers are ranked first in hits, fourth in home runs, and third in runs. Fans believe the Brewers are one of the best-hitting teams in the MLB.
“I think the Brewers have been very strong this season mainly because of their hitting, as their hitting has been the best in the MLB,” freshman Noah Jacobson said.
The Brewers players have finally started to click and become a good-hitting team in part because, during the offseason, they acquired a few players that have been playing well for this team including first-baseman, Rhys Hoskins, who leads the team with nine home runs and catcher Gary Sanchez has been a key player for the Brewers having six home runs and 18 hits playing 27 games.
“I think the Brewers’ pickups in the offseason were good, as the players have been crushing the ball on their past team and the Brewers,” sophomore Noah Lofy said.
The Brewers pitching has been outstanding as they’ve been better than fans imagined. Last offseason, the Brewers lost their two best pitchers Corbin Burnes and Brandon Woodruff. During the offseason and Spring Training, the Brewers mainly focused on their pitching. Some key pitchers on the Brewers include starting pitcher Freddy Peralta who has 64 strikeouts in 9 games and starting pitcher Colin Rea who has 35 strikeouts in 9 games.
“I think our pitching has improved a lot as we lost great pitchers during the offseason. Our pitching has been better than we thought,” freshman Wesley Van Lith said.
The Brewers have been playing outstanding as they sit first in their division, with a quarter of the season done the Brewers are potentially a top-five team in the MLB and continue to stay strong in the standings.
