Students were excited when they heard that the Raising Canes in Greendale will open on July 16 from 9AM- 10PM. This Raising Canes will also have a drive thru for customers.
This fast restaurant is known specifically for their crispy chicken and their “Canes Sauce”. Right now the closest open Canes restaurant is in Kenosha, which is 30 minutes away. By building one in Greendale it is more convenient for students to drive to.
Canes has also been very popular over the media, by people trying it all over Tik tok. With Canes opening right next to Chick fil a there may be some competition over who gets more customers.
Many students say that Canes is better than Chick Fil A mainly because of the sauce. “Canes is better because the sauce is better and the bread is better,” junior Landon Lopez states.
“My Favorite thing about Canes is the Canes sauce, and I think that it will be busier around Greendale with it opening,” junior Sophia Herrera said.
Canes only has a menu of three things that all contain chicken with a side of fries, so there is no alternative for not eating meat, and Chick Fil A has more options like salads, wraps, and a variety of sauces.
“For Chick Fil A I really like their salads but for Canes I like the chicken better and their sauce is top tier,” junior Kallie LaPointe said.
A lot of people say that the only downside of Canes right now is the drive, but Lopez says differently. “The farthest I’ve went was to Gurnee, Illinois with Luke Mattes, Alex Klaus and Matt Hernandez. Also it’s not about Canes, it’s about the journey.” he said.
