Your next favorite spot in Greendale? The new fast-food restaurant, Raising Canes, which opened on July 30.
Students at GHS are excited about the new restaurant even though it is very crowded.
“I went in and waited for about 20 minutes because the drive-thru was too long but, it was worth it, and I would do it again,” senior Sophia Herrera said.
Cane’s was very popular on social media and brought tons of attention, which made many controversial opinions about the restaurant.
“It’s very crowded but the building is nice,” sophomore Kyler Schwartz said. “I think the food is bland because it has little seasoning.”
Cane’s menu has chicken tenders, fries, drinks, and a chicken sandwich. Classmates shared their love for Raising Cane’s sauce and suggest new items for the menu.
“It’s one of the best sauces I’ve tried. I make it at home when I cannot get it from there,” junior Tegan Czarnyszka said. “If I had to add something to the menu it would be a corndog.”
Teachers and staff at GHS shared their thoughts on the menu, customer service, and pricing.
“The one time I did go it was great. It’s comparable to other chicken restaurants and I think it’s competitively priced,” special education teacher Matthew Susek said.
“The best thing they have going is a clear and differentiated concept. The food is fresh, tasty, and they have a unique and focused menu,” business teacher David Jacobs said. “The pricing is mid-range for fast food and my experience with customer service was good.”
The two restaurants, Raising Cane’s and Chick-fil-A, are very similar but some students have a stronger opinion on which one is better.
“Chick-fil-A is better because there’s more of a variety of stuff to get and they have good sauce,” junior Gianna Anaya said.
Other students like Cane’s better.
“I think Cane’s food is better because I like the chicken tenders with the sauce,” junior Myles Kimmins said.
