The GHS school store, the Panthers Den has a main mission of making sure students can have good experiences while also showing off their panther pride.
This year there is a new business teacher who is running the school store. And he is determined to make it student-friendly. Student wear can be designed by the students to create a welcoming and inclusive environment.
“I want to make sure the snacks and spirit wear takes into account of what the students want and also keeping the prices accessible,” business teacher David Jacobs said.
The school store creates a tremendous learning experience for the students taking a business class at GHS. However, many students need to realize the importance of working at the school store.
“It’s a great experience and you get to learn all different kinds of processes,” senior Aila Higgins said. “You can learn how to work with other people and what it’s like to operate and own a business.”
Many students believe that the school store is very beneficial to GHS. They enjoy the student spirit wear, snacks, and school-based items that come with it to fulfill their needs.
“Last year I bought a Mr. Muz shirt. I was very happy with my purchase because the shirt was very good quality,” sophomore Noah Jacobson said “The pricing is very fair and it’s a better deal than if you were to go to a different store.”
The Panthers Den has an online website that allows students to purchase customizable spirit wear outside of school hours. It is also available to GHS parents and other members of Greendale interested in purchasing great quality items.
The Panthers Den is only open in the morning from 7 am to 7:25 am and after school from 2:45 pm to 3:15 pm. Students and teachers at GHS wish to see the school store open more throughout the day.
“I think it would be a good idea to open it during lunch and have concessions,” social studies teacher Sarah Walczak said.
