Shopping on Black Friday is always a fun way to end November for lots of students and staff! Some prepare for it for months and take it as seriously as possible, while others wait until the day of to find the best deals.
Some students are excited for certain stores to launch their deals.
“I don’t really prepare a lot like some other people do,” sophomore Aj Bird said. “But if there’s a good deal, I’m definitely there. I’m really excited for the deals at Best Buy this year because the new Iphone 16 just came out!”
“Last year I found really good deals at Nordstrom while I wasn’t even looking,” sophomore Pavle Dragicevic said. “I remember going there by accident that day but walking out with many things, so I’m going to go back there this year for more of the best deals.”
Other students would rather avoid the stores but still find all the good deals online.
“I love shopping but I hate having to go to the crowded stores on Black Friday pushing my way through people,” junior Morgan Sellhausan said. “Instead, I shop from my phone and stay comfy in my bed.”
Unlike most students, some don’t look forward to Black Friday at all. “
I personally don’t get the whole hype about Black Friday,” junior Zayd Carteghena said. “The deals are never even that good and people rave about it for so long for no reason. I think people just use Black Friday as an excuse to spend more money for no reason.”
People are always excited about shopping on Black Friday, but sometimes they never think about the people who have to work, and how hard it might be for them.
“I work at Target, and during the holidays it’s really busy, especially during Black Friday,” junior Gabriella Bauer said. “It’s just really overwhelming sometimes but I get paid a lot more so it’s really worth it.”
