It’s cold and that means ski and snowboard season is here. Crystal Ridge, located at The Rock sports complex, is a ski resort where people can tube, snowboard, and pay to receive lessons, no matter what your level is; private, beginner, different terrain and multi week lessons.
Crystal Ridge provides rentals for skis, boards, boots and much more, to come ski or snowboard it can at a variety of prices. It costs $20-35 online and $35-45 in person. Crystal Ridge also has season passes for an individual person or families.
Some people have mixed opinions on whether or not the prices are fair at Crystal Ridge
“I think that the ski and snowboard prices are fair but the food and bay rentals are pretty expensive,” freshman Cole Johnson said.
“I think the passes are fair because if you go a lot you get your money’s worth, if you just get the rentals it can be a lot of money,” sophomore Anthony Bird said.
Crystal Ridge likes to change things up by adding a different terrain every week to keep the customers excited for each time they come.
People that have passes get their money’s worth when they go multiple times a week
“I usually go 3-5 times during the week with my friends, since I have a pass I find I save a lot more money than if I didn’t have one,” Johnson said.
There are other places that are similar to Crystal Ridge where people can also go snowboarding and skiing.
“Little Switzerland is better and Alpine Valley is better than Crystal Ridge, but I like Crystal Ridge because it’s right by my house,” freshman Tristan Springsted said.
Most people think that Crystal Ridge could make improvements to make members more satisfied each time they come.
“I think that they could expand to the hill and make it bigger so there is more riding room, or they could cut down some more trees,” sophomore Brooke Hart said. “That way on days when it is more crowded it will be more convenient because more people can snowboard.”
