The Packers currently stand at 10-4 and will very likely make the playoffs for the second straight year. They will most likely be a wild card playoff team as the Lions are leading the division at 12-2 and the Vikings are in second standing at 12-2.
Quarterback Jordan Love has had a solid season despite missing two games this season due to a groin injury. He has thrown the seventh most interceptions but has not thrown an interception since Nov. 17 against the Bears. He is also averaging 8.3 yards per completion, fifth in the NFL.
“I’m really glad that Love is protecting the ball better, Now there are more opportunities to score because we are not losing the ball,” freshman Bryce Carlson said.
The Packers signed running back Josh Jacobs in free agency last offseason. He has been a huge signing, having 1,147 rushing yards, the third most in the league behind Saquon Barkley and Derrick Henry. He also has the fourth most touchdowns at 12, nine of them have come in the last five games.
“Josh Jacobs is my favorite player on the Packers because of his explosiveness and yards after contact, It makes him really fun to watch,” senior Cooper Smith said.
The Packers also have a very young receiving core that does not really have a star wide receiver, but many receivers that can perform at any week. Jayden Reed leads the receiving core but has the 33rd most receiving yards this year.
“Reed has been very on and off with his game against Detroit having 0 receptions, but when he gets going, Reed is fun to watch,” junior Thomas Hanlon said.
The Packers defense has been a key part to their success this season. Linebacker Quay Walker leads the team in tackles with 102. He also leads the team in tackles for loss with nine. They also signed safety Xavier McKinney to a four year, 66 million dollar contract. He has turned into a star, having seven interceptions which is tied for first in the league. The Packers defense as a whole has 14 interceptions this season which is fourth in the league.
“The Packers’ defense has been a huge reason why they have been successful this year,” freshman Aaron Rekowski said.
The Packers are a very young team and have so much potential to be an incredible team for the future.
