Many people like to go to movie theaters especially with winter break coming up. One of the movies people want to see is Moana 2, which came out Nov. 24.
The sequel to the popular 2016 Disney movie Moana, follows Moana as she travels to Ociana after receiving an unexpected call from her wayfinding ancestors.
Disney is known for making multi-part movies, so it was no surprise when Moana 2 came out. The movie also left people wondering what comes next for the young heroine.
“The ending wasn’t expected and set the stage for a possible third movie,” junior Lily Frick-Machut said.
The movie has gotten mostly positive reviews, with many enjoying their experience. Although it targets little kids, many high school students liked it, too. Some students who haven’t seen the movie yet want to see it eventually.
“I definitely would go see the new movie; I really liked the first one,” junior Audrey Cullen said.
Some people think that movie theaters are too expensive now and would rather wait for the movie to come out on a streaming service, especially since this movie also got some mixed reviews.
One grievance people had was the music in this movie. Moana 2 has a different music producer than the first one, and people were unhappy with the music compared to the original Moana.
“I wish I could get my money back. I’ve never seen music that bad in a Disney movie; the first one was much better,” senior Noah Stanford said.
Many students disagree, saying it was one of the best Disney movies they’ve seen. Some people reminisced about how the original movie reminded her of her childhood.
“It brought me back to when I saw the first one, it reminded me of my childhood,” senior Kendal Coggins said.
