The NFL announced its 2025 Pro Bowl selections, highlighting its top performers across various positions and conferences. Fans, players, and coaches contributed to the selection process, recognizing outstanding achievements throughout the season.
Some players selected for the Pro Bowl have been putting up insane statistics, like the Bengals players who lead in their statistics. QB Joe Burrow lead the league with 4918 passing yards and 43 touchdowns, WR JaMarr Chase has achieved the triple crown, leading the league with 1708 receiving yards and 17 touchdowns, and DE Trey Hendrickson lead the league in sacks with 17.5 sacks.
Other players such as RB Saquon Barkley, WR Justin Jefferson, QB Lamar Jackson, and RB Derrick Henry have played out of their minds this season.
“I believe most of the picks were fair due to these Pro Bowlers having an insane season and putting up insane stats,” sophomore Emerson Lisowski said.
The Packers had three Pro Bowl selections: RB Josh Jacobs, LB Rashan Gary, and S Xavier McKinney. Overall Packers fans were disappointed in the playoffs where they lost to the Philadelphia Eagles 22-10. The Packers have been dealt with many injuries throughout the season, as key players such as WR Christian Watson, CB Jaire Alexander, and WR Romeo Doubs were out against the Eagles.
“I believe that the Packers players selected in the Pro Bowl were deserving, but I believe that our game against the Eagles was disappointing due to our defense and Jordan Love not playing the best,” sophomore Noah Jacobson said.
Although the Pro Bowl Selections have been made, some fans argue that some players should’ve made the Pro Bowl over others. These players include QB Baker Mayfield, S Kerby Joseph, and RB James Cook.
“Brian Thomas Jr should’ve made the Pro Bowl over WR like Jerry Jeudy and Zay Flowers because he had an incredible season having 10 touchdowns and 1282 receiving yards,” sophomore Max Derus said.
The Pro Bowl has changed throughout the years. Instead of playing a football match, it now includes tag football, dodgeball, and a skills competition. This has caused many fans to have negative feelings about the Pro Bowl, as fans described the Pro Bowl as soft and non-competitive.
“I believe the Pro Bowl hasn’t been the same because of the changes the Pro Bowl made which doesn’t give the exact excitement as the past Pro Bowls where it was competitive and fun to watch,” sophomore Korben Pfieifer said.
The selection of the NFL Pro Bowl represents an important achievement for NFL players, recognizing their massive performance and contributions during the season. While the game itself has changed, the honor of being in the Pro Bowl remains a respected mark of importance among fans.
