Love is in the air at GHS as Valentine’s day is approaching. This is a day for anyone, those who are in relationships or not, to celebrate this holiday is some type of way.
“My favorite thing about Valentine’s day is the appreciation of your boyfriend or girlfriend,” senior Callie Morzy said.
Students are excited to have a whole day to appreciate young romance, but also find this as a day to appreciate everyone around them. After all, Valentine’s day is the day to just do that.
“For Valentine’s day, I’m going to get my mom flowers because she deserves the love too,” sophomore Max Galien said.
“The meaning of Valentine’s is not just to appreciate your significant other, but also the loved ones all around you,” senior Aiden Warwick said. “Friends and family also deserve your love and appreciation you have for them.”
For some, this will be a second Valentine’s date with their significant other.
“Last year for Valentine’s day we went out to dinner at Olive Garden,” sophomore Nora Ellingson said. “After that we got home and exchanged gifts. My favorite gift I got last year was a promise ring.”
Those who don’t have a date do have different plans that will still make their Valentine’s count.
“Me and my friends are going to do a Gal-entine’s day,” freshman Laila Danbeck said. “We might do a bring your own food board for our dinner.”
Others who don’t have plans for this holiday still have their dream Valentine’s.
“My dream Valentine’s vacation would be in Greece, almost like a Mama Mia setting with my favorite flowers, candy, and dinner,” freshman Claire Hegedus said.
