Every year, millions of people watch the super bowl, not just for the game but for entertainment, like the national anthem, half time performance, and commercials. This year’s Super Bowl commercials cost $8 million per spot, a new record.

“My favorite commercial from the super bowl is the UberEats ad with Matthew McConaughey because I found it clever how the main food shown in that ad was wings and chips because that is a popular thing to eat with your family during football games and it said in the commercial ‘When football makes you hungry, order UberEats.’ It was a really good advertisement and Matthew McConaughey is one of my favorite actors so I automatically enjoyed it,” senior Thomas Gozdowiak said.
Super Bowl commercials are a showcase for some of the most creative and memorable commercials of the year. They have popular influencers to grab the audience’s attention and to help out their brand.
“My favorite commercial was the Poppi soda one. It had Alin Earl, Jake Shane, and Rob from Love Island. It is so fun to see a bunch of popular influencers get together and have fun doing a commercial,” freshman Claire Hegedus said.
This year’s Super Bowl commercials did not disappoint, delivering their brand with a mix of humor, creativity, and seriousness. Lots of families enjoy the Super Bowl commercials because they compare them from years before and love to see new faces.
“One of my favorite commercials that I saw this year was the Mountain Dew commercial because it was representing their new flavor Baja Blast and I love Taco Bell. I also found it very funny how they turned Singer Seal into an actual seal and Becky G was in that commercial and I used to listen to a couple of her songs when I was little so it brought back deja vu,” junior Zayd Cartagena said. “ One commercial that I loved was the Nerds candy one because I love the nerd gummy clusters, it’s one of my favorite candies and Shaboozy was the main character in the commercial.”
The Super Bowl commercials are getting very clever this year and start to use AI and special effects to grab people’s attention.
“I loved the stitch commercial because Lilo and Stitch is one of my favorite movies and they had him “interfere” the game and they made it look so real. Also when he was driving the golf cart my family and I found that hilarious,” senior Brynn Hegedus said.
There were many commercials this year but there is always one that stands out the most to people.
“One commercial that stood out the most to me is the Instacart one because it had many popular companies and not just focusing on one specific brand. It had the Cheetos mascot, pillsbury mascot, mr.clean, the kool aid man, mountain dew, Heinz ketchup, and the chick fil a cow. It was a very entertaining and unique commercial to watch and me and my family tried to find all the brands we could because we love to watch the commercials together and see all the different ones,” Gozdowiak said.
“One commercial that influenced me to buy their product was definitely the cousin subs commercial because after I saw it, I was craving cousin subs so bad, so I got some with my family the next day,” Hegedus said.
