On March 18, a fifth Hunger Games book will be published by Suzanne Collins, which will follow the story of Haymitch Abernathy, former Hunger Games winner from District 12.
Many Hunger Games fans are excited for another book to be released, along with the movie which will be released in November of 2026.
“Suzanne Collins only publishes these books when she has something to say. I am so excited to see how this book will parallel the society we live in today,” senior Kallie Lapointe said. “I’ve loved this series ever since I was a kid; I’m glad it is still popular.”
“I don’t like to read but I’m excited for the movie to come out. I have watched all the movies at least 20 times. They’re all so entertaining. Unfortunately, we still have to wait a year and half before the new movie comes out but I think it’s going to be very good,” freshman Nora Griffin said.
Many people have different opinions on what this book will be about. Some people think it will cover the 50th Hunger Games, while others think it might follow the story of Katniss Everdeen’s mother who would have been a teenager at the time of this book.
“I think the new movie will cover Haymitch’s games. I think it will also show his life after the games, how he became a mentor and how the games affected his life,” senior Kendal Coggins said.
“I hope the book covers Haymitch’s games. I want to read about another Hunger Games, especially with it being a quarter quell. We already know a little bit about what happened in his games so I would love to get more detail within this book.” Lapointe said.
The first four books and movies became very popular over the past 15 years. Most people agree this book will also become very popular, and will bring the series to life once again.
