The MLB opening day is set to start on March 18th with the Los Angeles Dodgers facing the Chicago Cubs in Tokyo Japan. This is the 6th time every opening day will be played in Tokyo. There are many exciting games to watch as the MLB season opens. Many new superstars will be making their debut on new teams some of these players are Devin Williams, Juan Soto, and Kyle Tucker.
¨I’m very excited for the MLB season to start. I love watching baseball and last season was a very entertaining season. What I’m most excited about this year is seeing Juan Soto on the Mets,¨ senior Luke Mattes said.
One matchup a lot of people are looking forward to watching is the Los Angeles Angels vs the New York Mets. Soto will be making his debut for the Mets and many classify him as one of the best players in the league. Another elite Matchup is the Padres vs the Braves. This matchup contains two highly touted superstars in Fernado Tatis Jr and Ronald Acuna Jr.
With a lot of new superstars on new teams many people are looking forward to seeing how they pan out on their new teams. The MLB has struggled with gaining views in the past years as most people tune into the NBA and NFL because of all the superstars being on the move. The MLB is hoping that the uprise of superstars can help them gain viewers.
¨The MLB has been more entertaining to watch recently and it got me back into baseball. There’s a lot of stars to watch and I like watching high scoring games,¨ senior Brad Moraza said.
This year the Milwaukee Brewers team looks a little different from last years. The Brewers traded Williams to the Yankees and lost Willy Adames to free agency. Those were two very good players for the Brewers who helped them make a playoff push. Even though those two stars left the Brewers still have a lot to work with. Jackson Chourio, the youngest player ever to record 20 home runs and 20 stolen bases is primed to have a breakout year and hopefully become an all star. Even though the brewers lost a lot of talent they are still looking to make a deep playoff run this year.
¨I love going to brewers games with my friends and family. Brewers games always give me something to do and when we have a good season I enjoy going to the games even more,¨ senior Sawyer Hakow said.
