Each year Greendale has a designated day for seniors to wear their future college gear. This day is really special because it gives students and teachers the opportunities to see what everyone has planned for in the future.
Most students end up searching for colleges for years and come to a decision sometime in April before decision day.
Senior Nichola Galusha got accepted to multiple schools but in the end chose the University of South Carolina.“I felt relieved that I had finally made a choice and that I could begin planning for my time in college.”
Most seniors go to the college they feel most at “home”. This is something you should really consider when looking at different colleges.
Senior Brady MCravens is going to Marquette University “I’ve loved Marquette for my entire life because my grandpa, mom, aunt, uncle, and cousins went there. Marquette also just felt like home to me and I could see myself fitting in very well there.”
While making a decision for college is stressful, this day is fun for students because you get to embrace your next four years by wearing something that expresses what you are doing with your future.
“I am excited to see where people are going to go or where they want to go that has not been posted on the senior instagram yet,” senior Anna Baxter said.
Many students choose their future based on a sport to continue doing what they love.
Senior Jacob Sporeman is going to Rochester and is going to play baseball. “I saw that they were very good at baseball and I really liked the college.”
Senior Carly Antczak is the 2025 valedictorian. And her advice is to apply where you want and look for a college that best fits your education.
“ It was a really stressful process to finally choose a school out of my options, but I’m very happy with my choice. Madison had all the programs that I wanted to study, as well as being an R1 research facility, so I’ll always be able to either participate or work on research studies,” senior Antczak stated.
Good advice for incoming seniors stated by Galusha, “Do not become enamored with a college just because of its image, you should go to the college that has the best fit for you. It is four years of your life, go where you feel at home.”
