Senior skip is a tradition seniors do every year where they all skip on the same day. Even though there’s only one confirmed senior skip day as of now, there may be a few more.
The only one scheduled for now is May 28 where all the seniors will be going to a Brewer game. This is a yearly tradition at GHS where every year one of the senior skip days is going to a Brewer game.
“I hope they add another skip day so we can go to the beach and I can tan,”senior Callie Morzy said.
¨I’m super excited for the Brewer game. I’ve been looking forward to it for a long time. I can’t wait to play bags at the tailgate and make hot dogs with my friends,¨senior Sawyer Hakow said.
Many of the seniors will be tailgating the Brewers game and they are looking forward to everyone bringing food, drinks, and perhaps some desserts. There will also be other activities
`like cornhole, throwing baseballs/football around, and vibing to the surrounding music. The game is at 12:10 so this will take up the majority of the seniors day.
¨I’ll be diving into the food selection for sure,”senior Pierce Weber said.
Unfortunately this falls on a day that boys baseball has a game so they can not attend. Most of the baseball players are seniors so they will all have to be at school in order to play. Athletic director Jerad Galante has made it very clear to all athletes in the past that you must be in school for the entire day without an unexcused absence to be able to play.
¨It sucks I can’t go and I was very bummed out when I found out. Senior skip is something I was looking forward to but we have a baseball game so I have to be at school instead,” senior Ben Hites said.
For now the rest of the skip days are yet to be decided but there are some good ideas in mind. The Greendale seniors page has been keeping students updated for what is yet to come. Some options are a Sky Zone Day, Outdoor Ed day, and a Beach Day. Whatever they choose to do, seniors are definitely excited.
