Throughout the whole 2024-2025 school year, freshmen have enjoyed their time at GHS. From football games to exams freshmen have not only made memories along the way but have also grown as people.
While some students will miss freshman year, many are excited to begin sophomore year as a new chapter in their lives.
Many freshmen involved in activities can’t wait for next year’s season.
“I played volleyball this year, and I plan to play as a sophomore as well. I thought it was really fun and am so excited to play as a sophomore,” freshman Claire Endter said.
Freshman Sebastian Gulinski played soccer this year.
“My favorite memory from freshman year was playing on the soccer team. One piece of advice I would give to an incoming freshman would be to join clubs and play sports,” Gulinski said.
Current freshman Clara Svoboda is excited for next year’s theater shows.
“I’m very excited to see what next year’s shows are going to be next year. This year I thought they were amazing so I hope they can be just as good,” Svoboda said.
Freshman experienced many hard classes this year that challenged them academically. Freshman Julia Block took Honors Geometry.
“I thought Hs Geo was hard at times but overall doable. I still decided to take the advanced class next year though,” Block said.
A lot of freshmen enjoyed the GHS festivities from the beginning of the year, including Homecoming, football games, and spirit weeks.
“I thought the Homecoming football game was so fun to go to. The pep rally and spirit week of Homecoming was also super fun,” freshman Olivia Goetzke said.
Teachers play a big role in how enjoyable a class can be. Many freshmen like Biology and Principles of Biomedical Science teacher Jessica Holschbach.
“My favorite teacher from this year would probably be Mrs. Holschback because she made the overall vibe of class really fun. I would often look forward to her class every day,” freshman Janet Ahmad said.
Now that the school year is almost over, freshmen are looking forward to summer and becoming sophomores.
