Summer is just around the corner, and everyone in school is talking about their plans they have lined up. From summer vacation to chill hang outs with friends, students are ready to make some unforgettable memories.
“I am so excited for this summer because I am going to be spending most of my time playing golf with my friends and I am also going to Florida and staying at an AirBNB in 30A. It is a really nice resort and I can’t wait to spend all my time swimming,” freshmen Jordan Weber said.
Lots of people are also choosing to stay in state this summer for their jobs and all the activities we have here.
“I am spending most of my summer playing and watching baseball, and will be with my girlfriend Khloe Pedersen, with her family’s business,” junior Aiden Acevedo said. “We will be at a bunch of farmers markets. On our free days we plan on going to the beach to get a nice tan and go to the State Fair, Six Flags, and all of the Summer fest days.”
Summer this year is a little different for seniors because it is their last summer before they head off to college or start their future. They have to make the most with their friends and families before they say their goodbyes.
“This summer I plan on being with my friends the majority of the time. I am going up north in my cabin with my friend Kate Kalinyen,” senior Teagan Amenda said. “We are planning on paddle boarding, going shopping in the cute little shops near town, making a bonfire every night, and hopefully getting a good tan. I am also going to the Wisconsin Dells with my whole friend group and all of us pitch in to rent out a cabin or a hotel room. We all want to go to the Wilderness or the Kahlahari. I also plan on going to a bunch of concerts and festivals.”
In Greendale there are a lot of activities and festivals here to make summer great. There are Village Days with games, food pop up stands, concerts, and rides. There also is the Fourth of July parade and fireworks.
“I love spending the Fourth of July in Greendale because the parade is so fun being with my friends or watching my friends perform in it,” junior Zayd Cartagena said. “I also love going to the fireworks with my friends and playing football until they start and after we all just hang out. I love being outdoors and in the summer there are plenty of things to do in Greendale.”
“Village days is my favorite activity during the summer, I love going to concerts and just walking around and winning prizes. My favorite ride is the ferris wheel and last year I won a fish,” junior Gianna Anaya said. “I go in the morning with my family and later again at night with my friends. My favorite memory is going on the roundup ride because every year it is just as scary to go on.”
It is clear that everyone’s got their own unique way of making the most out of their summer break. Whether it is traveling, trying new hobbies, or just kicking back with friends, the possibilities are endless.
