Every year the seniors at GHS look forward to their traditions as the oldest in the school. Whether it’s the senior prank or leading the school at sports games, everyone seems to love the senior skip days. Senior skip are days that allow the seniors that have worked their way through all four years to have fun together as a class.
Every year at GHS seniors attend a Brewers game.
“Our first senior skip day was at the baseball game and I feel like it was a really fun bonding moment for a lot of us,” senior Khloe Pederson said. “We tailgated in the parking lot and grilled out all together so it was an enjoyable time.”
There were some things that made this year’s senior skip different from others.
“It was raining the day we all had planned to go to the Brewers game,” senior Pierce Weber said. “We all had hoped the weather would be nice for the day, but we worked with what we had and made a great day out of it.”
Students also had a fun beach day for their second senior skip day.
“We all went to Bradford beach in the beginning of June,” senior Giancarlo Lechuga said. “The weather was really good for us compared to the Brewers game so it was perfect.”
Some students had their preferences on which was more fun.
“I had a lot more fun at the beach,” senior Brynn Hegedus said. “It was really relaxing at times but then we also played lots of games together and all got to bond a little bit more at the beach.”
The planning took lots of time for all of it.
“Running the senior account was easy towards the beginning, but it got really stressful towards the end with all of the senior skip days,” senior Laney Eggert said. “I had to work around a lot of different sports, tests, and clubs for everyone’s schedules, but it all definitely came together in the end.”
