As the school year is coming to an end and seniors are graduating and moving on to the next phase of their lives, there is still one event that almost every senior partakes in and that is a graduation party. Grad party season is usually a fun time for students and families because you get together with the people from your school one last time to celebrate the accomplishment of graduating.
Students often have a grad party and sometimes planning these parties can be really stressful with the invites, decorations, and food for all these people. Some people go all out on their parties.
“I am having my graduation party in August. My theme is pinks and gold which will be so cute. I am having the party at my house and I have been helping plan everything that I want there, but I also have the help of a party planner which has been super helpful,” senior Tess Zaja said. “I am also having a food truck that will be offering bbq type food. I am really excited to see everyone and all of my family at my party but I am also excited to help decorate everything and see the final picture.”
Some students like to have more of a lowkey grad party that’s just family and close friends.
“I’m having my party on July 5 at my house. I haven’t really helped plan it, all I know is that we’re catering Chipotle. I’m excited to get money from people and also see my friends and have a good time with them,” senior Greysen Doersching said.
“My grad party is on June 28 and I don’t have a specific theme to it. It’s going to be at my house and there is going to be Serbian food and all of my friends and family who can come are going to be there,” senior Ilija Pupovac said. “I am excited to see everyone and all who can make it to my party because I know that there are a lot of grad parties that day.”
Some students like to rent out a venue when it comes to their grad parties because it’s easier than having it at their house. You don’t have to worry about cleaning up and if you’re lucky the place may offer food and people to help set up.
“I don’t have a date for my grad party yet and there isn’t a specific theme, but it will take place at the Botanical Gardens. I have helped make invites. We’re going to have sandwiches and cake to eat at my party. I’m excited to be getting money and giving gifts at other people’s grad parties and saying our final goodbyes,” senior Anna Baxter said.
Grad party season is always a fun time, you get to see people outside of a school setting eat lots of food and make memories with these people for the last time.
