Summer Vacation is a time many students look forward to throughout the year. After months of studying, homework, etc. students and teachers finally have a long break to enjoy warm weather, high uv, and have some fun.
Some people have exciting trips planned, while others enjoy fun activities locally. No matter how it is spent, summer break is a time to make long lasting memories and enjoy your time with a break from school.
“My family and I are going to Aruba most likely this summer. I am preparing for the summer and my vacation by ordering a bunch of clothes,” sophomore Olivia Trentadue said.
Travel plans show how students start preparing for summer mentally and physically before the end of the school year. A vacation isn’t just a break from routine but also something to look forward to. For many, having an exciting summer vacation planned helps motivate them to finish the year strong.
“I’m going to South Carolina in July and then to Cape Cod so I have just been buying a ton of new swimsuits and sundresses,” junior Casey Lamb said
Shopping for your summer vacation is more than just buying clothes, it is building excitement for imagining how amazing the trip will be and preparing for it. Preparing for summer vacations can be fun and meaningful in a way of transitioning from a school mindset to a summer mindset.
“Summer is definitely a total vibe shift because it is much more relaxing and there is little to no stress at all,” senior Kallie LaPointe said.
Who you travel with can make or break your trip. A good travel group brings positive energy and a shared sense of enjoyment, which can even turn the smallest moments into long lasting memories. On the other hand, travelling with a not so fun group could just lead to anger and stress which is the last thing you want on a relaxing summer vacation. Group dynamics affect everything from choosing activities to solving problems that come up. In more ways than none, the people you travel with shape the tone of the entire trip.
“I am going to Tennessee for a long weekend with my Mom and sister who I love travelling with. Especially since we are all girls, it is so enjoyable and we can bond over so many things,” senior Betsy Potkay said.
