¨I had a lot of fun playing tennis this year. Even though I did not reach the state finals like I had wanted to, I’m still going to make sure I come back better next year¨, said Hanlon.
The doubles team heading to state this year are, Seniors Caden Hernandez and Braden Kison. They start their matches today at 1pm.
¨I’m excited for the match tomorrow because i’m very prepared. I’ve been playing tennis my whole life so it feels very rewarding to finally make it to state,¨ Hernandez said.
Another season that is coming to an end is the girls soccer started their playoff journey against Tenor. They won 11-0, they play Tosa East next. The girls have had a promising season with a record of 8-5-3. The leading goal scorer is senior Callie Morzy, she has 11 goals on the season and she looks to carry this momentum into playoffs.
¨Im very excited to play Tosa East because it is the regional championship game and it will be a super close game,¨ Junior Eva Sula said.
¨My amazing team has allowed me to have a good season. My wingers always look for me in the middle and they make sure to feed me the ball,¨ said Morzy.
“I’m so excited to hopefully watch my team win Regionals because we have grown so much over the season. And am excited to hear about what the team does next year!!”
This week is a very exciting week for the Panthers as many teams start their playoff journey. We will make sure to follow them through their playoff runs as girls soccer and the tennis teams have their eyes on a state championship!
