As summer approaches, students are adjusting their makeup routines to match the warmer weather. With higher temperatures and more time spent outdoors, many are moving away from heavy products and turning to lighter, more breathable options.
“I like to use less makeup and just mascara for my lashes during summer” – sophomore Cynthia Manzo said.
Tinted moisturizers, lip oils, waterproof mascara, cream blushes, and setting sprays are becoming everyday staples.
This summer’s trends are all about looking fresh with minimal effort. Soft colors, dewy finishes, and fewer steps are defining the season. Instead of full-coverage foundations or heavy contouring, students are opting for natural-looking skin and subtle glow.
“I just use skincare products in the summer,” junior Derek Coatzozon said. “The goal is to feel comfortable while still looking put-together.”
As routines shift with the season, heat-friendly products are taking the spotlight. Students are avoiding thick foundations, matte lipsticks, and powders that may not hold up in the heat. Instead, they’re reaching for multitasking products that are quick to apply and long-lasting throughout the day. Makeup doesn’t take as long to do as it did in winter,
“My makeup routine takes longer in winter, because I do it before school but in summer it takes less time,” junior Giselle Paszkiewicz said.
Overall, summer makeup is leaning toward simplicity. With less focus on perfection and more on ease, students are embracing a lighter, more relaxed approach to it.
