With it being that time of year again, the seniors were excited to play in the Powder Puff game which
occurs every year during Homecoming week for senior girls. The game was on Sept. 25 at 7 pm and the
winning team was the Dancing Queens.
Student Council adviser Jeff Schaetzke thought the game went really well.
“The game was super fun. It’s always a little intense, but it’s meant to be fun and showcase the girls
playing with and against their friends,” he said. “The practices were fun, the coaches did a good job getting the
girls some plays, and the game was a great event.”
Coaches from the Super Trouper team were thrilled with how their team played.
“Everyone was a fast learner and were able to learn their positions well,” senior Thomas Hanlon said.
“The strategies we used for us coaches were trying to simplify plays as much as possible and make sure
everyone knew every play.”
“I think our team was very coordinated and that worked to our advantage,” senior Jack Grunske said.
“It was a great experience and I learned that the class of 26 is really the greatest.”
Teammates from both sides were happy despite the outcome.
“I wasn’t happy to lose, but I think my team still played well,” senior Lyla Gibson said. “I had so much
fun with this group of girls at practices and the game. It was a really cool experience.”
“I’m very happy with the outcome and I think my team’s hard work paid off,” senior Addison Patneaude
said.
“I had so much fun playing and it was a great experience,” senior Josie Marshall said. “I’d definitely do
it again.”
The Dancing Queens team were happy to take home the win and the coach shares their strengths.
“We had a lot of track girls and girls who play sports, which allowed us to utilize their speed and
athleticism throughout the entirety of the game,” senior Cole Lofy said. “We also had coaches with a lot of
football experience, which helped with setting up players and getting girls in the right spots based on what
skills or positions they were better at.”
“I’d say one of the biggest advantages was our team chemistry and our winning mindset,” senior Logan
Nowak said.
Although both teams couldn’t take the winning title, all seniors involved had a great experience and
were honored to be a part of the game. The ending score was 13-0 with Patneaude and senior Giselle
Paszkiewicz scoring the touchdowns.
