The NBA season is less than a month away. The offseason had huge signings and trades. Some teams like the Rockets, Lakers, and the Trail Blazers had great offseasons, but other teams like the Warriors and Celtics had terrible offseasons. The Bucks had didn’t have a great offseason losing two starters.
The Milwaukee Bucks signed center Myles Turner to a 4 year, 107 million contract. But to do so they had cut Bucks guard Damian Lillard, who is expected to miss the whole 2025-2026 season because of a torn achilles he suffered at the end of last season.
“I think that was a great move for the Bucks. With Damian Lillard missing the whole season there is no point in paying him a huge contract,” sophomore AJ Rekowski said,” We also have Kevin Porter Jr to fill the big role.”
The Rockets made a big trade in the offseason, by trading for Kevin Durant from the Phoenix Suns in a 7 team trade. Durant had the 6th highest score last year and is considered a top 10 player in the NBA.
“I think the Rockets had the best offseason in the league. They got one of the best scorers in the NBA,” sophomore Beckett Lisowski said.
The Thunder, who won the NBA Finals last season, gave a huge extension to Shai Gilgeous-Alexander. It was a 4 year 285 million dollar contract which will make him the highest paid player in the league.
The Trailblazers had a great offseason, by getting Damian Lillard and Jrue Holiday. The Trailblazers signed Lillard to a 3 year contract for a 42 million dollar contract. They signed him after the Bucks waived him. They also traded for Celtics guard Holiday in exchange for Anfernee Simons and 2 second round picks.
