With the ‘25-’26 school year starting it’s an exciting time that brings new opportunities for learning, growth, and fun while students adapt and get back into routine.
The new school year can be scary to the newcomers of the school, but most people find it exciting as they can see old friends and get a brand new start.
Some freshmen are having a great experience in their first year as high schoolers.
“Coming here from middle school was definitely scary at first, but it’s honestly really fun and I love seeing my friends and new faces in the hallways,” freshman Olivia Stoll said.
Other freshmen are having a bit of a tough time adjusting to this new environment.
“Its definitely a lot different than middle school, trying to keep up with all of the work is definitely hard,” freshman Nahla Acosta said.
Some seniors are living it up though, as they’re excited about it being their last year.
“I think being a senior is super fun. I love it so far and it’s just so exciting,” senior Ella Padron said.
Other seniors have this same mentality but are still a little bummed about being there last year.
“I’m definitely excited, but a little sad because high school is an easy thing to take for granted so it’s important to enjoy it while you can,” senior Lucas Riechert said.
This year students are really trying to be on top of their organization, and start the year off strong.
“This year I’m really trying to use the planner the school gave us to write down my assignments, and use different folders for different classes,” sophomore Jordan Weber said.
Another student also shares how they’re trying to stay organized.
“I am really trying to use my study hall to actually get stuff done, instead of sitting on my phone or playing games like I did last year,” junior Wesley Van Lith said.
Not only are students trying new techniques, teachers are also getting out of their comfort zone implementing new rules, ideas, and practices.
“I’m excited to really try and implement the phone catty this year because phones are such a huge distraction,” art teacher Pam Merkel said.
As the school year progresses students hope to continue to stay organized, while still having a fun time.
