The NFL season has begun, and fans are watching their favorite teams play; that’s not the only reason fans are watching. Fantasy Football is back, bigger than ever, as we see the biggest busts of this fantasy season, steals of the drafts, buy lows, and sell highs.
Fantasy Football is a game that allows fans to create their own teams filled with NFL players while watching games. Fans draft players based on their weekly performances through the season. When their team is ready, they’ll play against each other and get points through the players’ statistics in the games.
“Fans play Fantasy Football because they want to play in leagues with their friends, or they can win some money if they win their Fantasy Football championship,” junior Max Derus said.
Some players have been performing well as they’ve exceeded Fantasy expectations, while some other players have been struggling to exceed expectations as they’ve had a slow start to the season. Some players who have been carrying Fantasy teams are RB Jonathan Taylor, WR Jaxon Smith-Njigba, RB Christian McCaffrey, and WR Puka Nacua.
“I have RB, Jonathan Taylor in one of my leagues and he’s been playing lights out, as he’s the RB1 and will continue performing well,” junior Gabriel Anderson said. “I also got Jaxon Smith-Njigba in the third round, and he’s the WR3.”
Some players have been underperforming, but their value is super high, such as WR Brian Thomas Jr, RB Cam Skateboo, RB Jordan Mason, and WR Chris Olave. Some players have been performing well; however, their value is super low, like WR Michael Pittman Jr, WR DK Metcalf, and RB D’Andre Swift.
“I got Omarion Hampton from a trade in week two, and he’s been a top ten RB the past two weeks,” junior Noah Freund said.
Overall, Fantasy Football is back with a force as crazy injuries have occurred, new stars are playing amazingly, underdogs are playing well, and there are many trades, and looking at waiver wire adds as fans chase the Fantasy Football Championship.
