The NFL season is in full swing and some teams like the Colts and Chargers have started off hot, while teams like the Texans and Dolphins have started off badly.
The NFL season kicked off with the reigning Super Bowl winners Eagles taking down the Cowboys. Then the Chargers beat the Chiefs the next day in Brazil. On Sunday night, the Bills made a huge comeback against the Ravens in the fourth quarter, overcoming a 15 point deficit along with a game winning field goal to end the game 41-40.
“I think Josh Allen is going to win MVP because of that game,” sophomore Beckett Lisowski said.
One team that has been playing over expectations is the Colts. They signed former Giants quarterback Daniel Jones in free agency and let Jones and Anthony Richarson fight for the starting job. Jones ended up winning the job and has looked way better than his time with the Giants.
“Daniel Jones has been playing a lot better ever since leaving the Giants,” Lisowski said. “The Colts in general look very good despite having bad expectations.”
Star running back Jonathon Taylor has fought many injuries throughout his career, but this year looks very healthy. He has played incredible this year and he and Jones will look to continue this success as the season goes.
In the same division as the Colts, the Texans have struggled to get it going. Star running back Joe Mixon will miss the majority of the season with an ankle injury. Quarterback C.J Stroud has continued to struggle behind arguably the worst offensive line in the league. They may need to make some moves before the trade deadline in order to stay alive.
The Packers made one of the biggest trades in recent history by trading for edge Micah Parsons from the Cowboys, and with Parsons they have one of the best defenses in the league.
The Packers offense has been inconsistent so far this season, with running back Josh Jacobs struggling to get it going. Jordan Love has been playing well for the most part, but threw a costly interception in a game where they were upset by the Browns.
“If Jordan Love can step up and be a leader, the Packers will be very successful,” sophomore Sam Eggert said.
The NFL has seen a lot of surprises to begin the season, and while some fans are excited about their teams, some have been disappointed.
