Spirit week for Homecoming is a chance for your High School to go wild with school pride. It’s a full week of long celebrations packed with fun activities, crazy dress-up days, and a whole lot of friendly competition in High School. G-dale also hosted a pep rally on the last day, which was Friday.
“Spirit week shows pride and having a strong connection with the school/game days. I love the energy of the week and all of the amazing decorations,” senior Casey Lamb said.
School Spirit Week is particularly important to many people, as it enhances the overall atmosphere within the school. It is one of the very few times of the year when everyone dresses up with a lot of school pride. Monday was class color day, Tuesday was pajama day, Wednesday was frat vs sorority day, Thursday was a day in Greece, and Friday was Greendale attire day
“Spirit week makes going to school and learning more fun than any other ordinary day. Spirit weeks are always looked forward to, and people show so much excitement,” junior Dana Flink said.
“We picked the spirit days by hearing out suggestions in a meeting and then voting on them. Anybody was free to suggest something, and if they gained enough interest from the rest of the group, then we considered it for one of the spirit days,” senior Thomas Hanlon said.
Most students like Greendale Spirit Day the most out of all five days because everyone in the school is likely to have that attire. The school is full of black, white, and green. There is rarely a person who isn’t wearing Gdale attire, which is amazing.
“My favorite is Greendale spirit because I like looking up at the whole school during the pep rally and seeing everyone wear Greendale spirit,” senior Zayd Cartagena said.
“My favorite Spirit Day was frat vs sorority day because you get to dress kind of formal and swaggy at the same time,” senior Logan Nowak said.
