Students at GHS spent their summers everywhere from the beaches of Florida to the historic sites of Egypt. Their trips offered a break from work and a chance to make lasting memories before the new school year.
For senior Charlie Sheridan, the goal was a summer escape. He spent his break in Punta Cana. “The warm weather was definitely my favorite part,” senior Sheridan said. He would recommend it to other students looking for a tropical trip.
Other students traveled much further, including a 14 hour flight to Egypt. While the pyramids were impressive, Amro Gamar’s focus was on spending quality time with family. “My favorite part was visiting my family,” freshman Gamar said. Because of the long flight, he would not recommend it for a typical student vacation.
Some students found fun times closer to home, like Washington, D.C. “I’d have to say my favorite moment was watching the Brewers play the Nationals,” junior Wesley Van Lith said.
Fellow junior Adam Kias also traveled domestically, heading to Sarasota, Florida to see a famous beach. “Getting to go to Siesta Key, and hangout with my friends on the beach, was my favorite moment,” junior Adam Kias said. He agrees with the beach’s ranking and recommends this spot.
Whether traveling for relaxation, family, or sports, Panthers found that a chance of scenery was the perfect way to spend the summer.
