Every year, Apple releases what is supposed to be the new and improved iPhone. Is it really better than every other iPhone?
Some students have gotten the new iPhone and they share their opinions on the new iPhone 17. This iPhone is not only thinner and more scratch-resistant, but the big talk is about the front camera aesthetic.
Junior Noah Hergert has the iPhone 17. He said he liked that the camera quality is excellent. “The battery doesn’t drain as fast as the other iPhones,” he said.
Senior Rayna Patel also has the new iPhone. “The camera quality is really good; it’s better than any other phone I’ve ever had,” she said.
Despite the great camera quality, sophomore Champ Jacoby does not want the new iPhone, because he thinks it’s just a trend that will die soon, and nothing is different except the back of the phone design.
“It’s simple, nothing new. Honestly, I see nobody flexing their iPhone 17 and I only know 2 people who have it so far,” he said.
Junior Cece Szweda feels the phone is overpriced.
“iPhones in general are overpriced, especially because they scam people by having them trade in their old phones,” she said.
These students’ reactions to the new iPhone 17 are extremely different from one another. On one side, they think that it is nothing new, while on the other side, it is of better quality.
Szweda thinks they should stop making new phones so often.
“Apple should just keep updating the iOS and not the actual phones because they’re just going to start putting random stuff on it.” Szweda said. “The new color panel is terrible, the orange looks brown, and I miss the gold rose color. I’d rather have the iPhone 16.”
The iPhone 17 does have some better features, according to what Hergert said, but Szweda also has a valid point that nothing is appealing about it.
