Back in March 2017, Kong Skull Island, a reboot to the early King Kong, hit theaters and it  was about a group of soldiers and scientists who go on a confidential exhibition and end up stranded on an island somewhere lost in the Pacific Ocean. On this island they find an almost extinct species, a giant gorilla known as Kong. While trying to find their way off the island they are confronted by a different group of animals: a lizard type creature who they later find out killed Kong’s family. The creature? Godzilla.

This story sets up the movie Godzilla vs. Kong  which is set to hit theaters April 2. Junior Nathan Dineen is excited for the movie.  “I have been waiting for this movie since I was young and am very excited by the trailer.” 

The trailer, released Jan. 24, 2021, has many excited about the movie to finally be released. “I saw the first Kong movie, and am excited for the new one. Kong will win just because that’s how movies always go the good guy wins but honestly Godzilla should win,” senior Joe Toetz said.

The movie itself is so intense because of the long lasting war between the lizard creatures with Godzilla decedent and Kong and his family. People have thoughts on who will win.“I knew about the movie but I probably won’t see it because it isn’t that interesting. But I think Kong will win because he is just way stronger and a beast,” junior Jordan Gruel said. 

Junior Lance Caballero thinks Godzilla will definitely win. “He will win  just because he is in his own terrain. How is Kong supposed to fight in water against a giant lizard creature that lives in the bottom of the ocean?” he said. “I do plan to see the movie just to know who wins,”  he said.

Everyone has different opinions, however we won’t know until the movie is finally out to see who is stronger than the other.
