It seems like everyone has been waiting for spring break, the warm weather, things opening back up, and seeing everyone again. It has been what seems like forever since we’ve seen each other out in the sun and having fun.

After a long year of an emotional roller coaster and not being able to do anything besides go to the grocery store and home, stores and attractions are starting to open back up and the sun is starting to shine. This spring break could be something we all are in desperate need of.

Someone who is very excited in particular is senior Brett Shumway. “I am very excited for spring break. It has been a long time I just didn’t have to worry and stress and can have fun,” he said. “I’m going to ‘Bama with the boys to Gulf Shores and I’m going to tour my college campus.”

Some are taking advantage of the break and nice weather and not worrying about the pandemic. “I’m not really  worried about the pandemic, thinking about it more than I already have will just ruin my vacation,” Shumway said.

Another student excited for spring break is junior Danijela Gallo who is going to Panama City Florida. “I’ve never been there before but I have been to Florida and I’m really looking forward to being somewhere warm and getting tan,” she said.

Junior Maddie Grenier is also going to Florida, however she is going to Daytona. “I have been to Florida a few times but never Daytona but I’m looking forward to being in warm weather and getting tan, as well as spending my birthday in Florida,” she said. “I’m not really nervous to fly during the pandemic especially because they have to clean the planes really well and everyone is wearing masks during the flight.”

Sophomore Mallory Skaar is going somewhere different. “I am very excited to go to California and Las Vegas to meet my new baby cousins and see my family. But I am mostly excited since this is the first time I am able to get away since covid,” she said.

Covid has taken a toll on everyone so whether you are  going on vacation or not, people seem to really need spring break to get away and escape the reality that this world is caught up in right now.
